As you are aware there can be many singular or combination causes behind Eczema - hereditary, contact, diet, build-up of internal toxins, temperature or infection. However, one aspect, too often over-looked or ignored especially by the medical profession, is the relation between stress and Eczema. For the purpose of this article we'll just explore the emotional aspect.

Now everyone on this planet has some stress of course, and some more than others, yet not everyone gets Eczema. However, unfortunately for some their skin reacts to stressful events. It can be caused by a singular one-off emotional event e.g. a sudden and traumatic break-up, or a combination of events e.g. death of a loved one and subsequent relocation to another city, or even prolonged exposure to a stress e.g. going through a court case or divorce.
As a highly successful and qualified emotional therapist (‘Quantum Emotional and Physical Release’ – QEPR), I am very aware of the emotional connection between and Eczema and stress. I often hear it said that client’s Eczema gets worse when they are stressed. Does your skin react, ‘flare-up’ when you’re more when stressed?
Perhaps you’re already aware of what might be the cause or causes behind it. To help you along I would suggest asking yourself these questions:-
What ‘irritates’ me?
What am I ‘sore’ about?
What am I ‘itching’ to do?
What ‘rubs me’ up the wrong way?
What frustrates me?
What’s eating at me?
What am I angry about?
What rages me?
Etc etc...
When you have some insight you might then work on clearing these feelings either on your own or with the help of a qualified therapist.
In my next article I shall explore the relationship between diet and Eczema. The biggest cause of all?
